Run with the Horses: The Quest for Life at Its Best (Men’s Study)
Sunrise Grill | Tuesdays at 6am
In Jeremiah 12:5 God says to the prophet, “If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?” We all long to live life at its best―to fuse freedom and spontaneity with purpose and meaning. Why then do we often find our lives so humdrum, so unadventuresome, so routine? Or else so frantic, so full of activity, but still devoid of fulfillment? How do we learn to risk, to trust, to pursue wholeness and excellence―to run with the horses in the jungle of life? In a series of profound reflections on the life of Jeremiah the prophet, Eugene Peterson explores the heart of what it means to be fully and genuinely human. His writing is filled with humor and self-reflection, insight and wisdom, helping to set a course for others in the quest for life at its best.

Where do you turn when the world around you grows dark? In this study of the Gospel of John, Dr. Tony Evans encourages us to turn to Christ by reminding us of the two purposes for the beloved disciple’s book—that we would believe in Jesus and find life in His name. Despite what our culture may argue, there is only one hope that is truly trustworthy and that is our Savior, Jesus Christ. So join Tony for this 12-session series that will draw you back to the essential truths of our faith and the life found in our King.
The Power of a Women’s Words
Mission Campus | Wednesdays at 6:30 | Room 104
Words are one of the most powerful forces in the universe, and they can be used for good or evil. When God created our world, He did so with words. He said, “Let there be…” and it was so. While our words cannot bring into existence things that are not, they do have the power to build courage into a husband’s life, instill confidence into a child’s heart, fan into flames the dying embers of a friend’s smoldering dreams, and draw the lost to Christ.
This book is for every woman who desires to use her words to build up rather than tear down, to encourage rather than discourage, to cheer rather than jeer. It is for all who desire to have more control over that mighty force called the tongue.
“Breathe” by Priscilla Shirer
Mission Campus | Wednesdays at 6:30 | Room 206
One of the greatest challenges among women in our culture is taking time to stop and cease from all the activities and busyness and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. We miss the moments because we rush ahead to the next thing. By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God’s greatest gifts.
